Seal Trips
All our bookings are made by telephone, and we ask you to arrive at our office (our white camper van) on Morston quay (NR25 7BH) to collect your tickets at least 30 minutes prior to departure, paying for them with card or cash.
Having collected your tickets from our office, we will direct you to the Temple Seal Trip boats, our red and white fleet consisting of the Four Sisters, Morston Ferry and Lily Too.
The boats will take you out to Blakeney Harbour, an Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, with our fully qualified skippers and crew who will share their abundant knowledge of the harbour, including the fascinating history the area holds The trip will continue past the iconic Lifeboat House, towards the end of Blakeney Point, which is home to both the Common and Grey Seals.
We view mostly Common seals in the summer months, who have arrived at Blakeney Point to have their pups. They will be located on the end of the Point, with the pups arriving approximately June and continuing throughout the summer until the end of August.
The common seal pups can swim as soon as they are born, so we never know when we will see one, but they are out there ready to be spotted! It is a beautiful time to see the seals with the sun shining and the seals basking.
The Grey Seals begin to arrive in number during the autumn months and start having their pups towards the end of November. Each year is a record year, the numbers increasing rapidly, and we can now expect this figure to be over 5,000 pups. It is a truly phenomenal sight. The seals and their pups will be covering the whole of Blakeney Point for the duration of December.
We will approach the seals close in, towards the shore where we are able. The seals are very inquisitive animals and will often swim around the boat, so don’t forget your camera!
The views are stunning and the whole trip is second to none Our skippers are very experienced in what they offer and will endeavour to provide to you the best trip possible.
There are times of the year when seal numbers can be scarce, and we will share this information on the phone and website. We are happy to go out and see what we can find but due to these animals living completely in the wild, we cannot ever guarantee what you will see.
The views are stunning, and the whole trip is second to none. Come prepared for the weather, extra layers in the winter and sun-cream, bottle of water and hats in the summer!
A trip on the boats is the perfect chance to soak in the fresh air of the North Norfolk coast, and visit wildlife in its natural surroundings.
A unique experience that the Temple family love sharing with all their customers.
